スタジオジブリには、他にもあなたの気に入る名作がいくつかある。
Whisper of the Heart (1995) is a coming-of-age story about a bookish girl, Shizuku, who finds that all the books she borrows from the library have been checked out by the same boy, and resolves to find him.
「耳をすませば（1995）」は本好きな少女シズクがが大人になっていく物語で、彼女が図書館から借りる本を全て読んでいる少年がいることを知り、彼を探し始める。
coming-of-age「成人年齢、成人、成熟」。
Only Yesterday (1991) is a gentle slow-burner (with some rather upsetting scenes in flashback) about a 27-year-old woman looking back on her life and the choices she’s made.
「おもひでぽろぽろ（1991）」ではゆっくりと進む物語の中で（どきっとする過去の情景を挟みつつ）27歳の女性が人生を振り返り、これまでの選択に思いをはせる。
slow-burner「遅咲き、気づく（本気になる、怒り出す）のが遅い人」。
From Up On Poppy Hill, from 2011, is directed by Miyazaki’s son, Goro, and frames the recurring Ghibli theme of supposed progress sweeping away tradition around two young people and their fight to save a school clubhouse from demolition.
「コクリコ坂から（2011）」は宮崎氏の息子・吾朗氏が監督を務め、ジブリ作品らしさを踏襲し、若者たちが部室の取り壊しを防ごうと奮闘する姿を描いている。
recurring「循環する、繰り返される」。
sweep away「（物を）押し流す・破壊する、（感情などを）消し去る、洗い流す」。
frames the recurring Ghibli theme of supposed progress sweeping away tradition（伝統を一掃するであろう進歩という繰り返されるジブリのテーマを形作る）＝「ジブリ作品らしさを踏襲」。

大好きな作品の改作を見たいなら・・・
As well as Howl’s Moving Castle, Ghibli has used several well-known novels as jumping-off points for its movies.
「ハウルの動く城」のように、ジブリは映画製作の出発点で有名な作品を映画化している。
jumping-off point「手始め、開始点、出発点」。
One of the studio’s most recent films, When Marnie Was There (2014), is based on Joan G Robinson’s 1967 novel, and it’s a moving, atmospheric tale of a 12-year-old girl who begins a friendship with the mysterious Marnie, who is not all she seems.
近年の作品の一つ「思い出のマーニー（2014）」はジョーン・G・ロビンソンの1967年の小説が原作で、謎を秘めたマーニーと12歳の少女の感動的で雰囲気のある友情物語だ。
Mary Norton’s The Borrowers (1952) gets the Ghibli treatment in Arrietty (2010), which perhaps doesn’t make everyone’s list of favourites, mainly due to its familiarity.
メアリー・ノートンの「床下の小人たち（1952）」はジブリの手を経て「借りぐらしのアリエッティ（2010）」になったが、この作品は原作ファンも多いため、人によって好き嫌いがあるだろう。
And Tales From Earthsea (2006) is extremely loosely based on Ursula K Le Guin’s quartet of novels, and is not entirely successful as an adaptation, though it has its fans.
「ゲド戦記（2006）」は、大まかにアーシュラ・K・ル＝グウィンの四部作を原作としており、改作としては成功とは言えない部分もあるがファンも獲得している。
jumping-off「飛び降り」の point「点」は「出発点」としましたが、内容からすると「（これまで以上に）勢いをつける」とか「（攻めの態勢に）取り掛かる、攻め時」といった感じかもしれません。
理由は単純明快！「少ないコストでしっかり楽しく学べるから」。
