And even if you are unlikely to see an army of teenaged girls in bias-cut skirts and high-heeled boots scurrying down your local high street any time soon,

ロマンチックな女性主人公を、面倒で普通で、ちょっと混乱した存在として理想化することは、何だか面白いではないか。

Let's face it, Frazzled English Woman is about as far away from That Girl as it possible to be

はっきり言って「くたくたの英国女性」は「（完璧におしゃれな）あの子」とはかけ離れている、

• and maybe that's why she's become a sensation, even if mostly an online one.

そしてだからこそ彼女はネット上ではあるが、センセーションを巻き起こしたのかもしれない。

Frazzled English Woman might have been charmingly dishevelled, but she also knew what was important in life

彼女は愛らしくだらしなかったかもしれないが、人生で何が重要かを知っていた、

• not looking perfect 100% of the time or having a spotless home, but drinking wine with her friends and being wooed by both Hugh Grant and Colin Firth.

100％完璧な見かけでもなく、綺麗な家でもなく、友人とワインを飲み、ヒュー・グラントやコリン・ファースに言い寄られる。

And while I don't imagine we'll see Marie Kondo sporting a pointlessly tiny crocheted scarf any time soon,

近藤麻理恵氏が、無意味にかぎ針編みの小さなスカーフを巻く姿を見られるとは思わないが、

you could say she's embracing the frazzled mindset:

彼女は混乱を受け入れるという発想に至ったのかもしれない、

not just accepting a bit of mess but actually embracing it, in order to have more time with a more important thing in your life - the people you love.

少々の混乱を受け入れるのみならず、積極的に迎え入れることで、人生においてより重要なこと、つまり愛する人たちとの時間を増やすということを。

• 完 - 片付ける事にとらわれ過ぎず、多少の散らかりは許容して、その分愛する人たちとの時間をより大切にする。 こんまりさんもその考えに至ったのでは？という話。 まあブリジット・ジョーンズは映画なのでそのまま鵜呑みには出来ませんが、確かに全てを完璧にこなそうとキリキリしているくらいなら、多少だらしなくてもニコニコ機嫌が良い方が、一緒に居る側としては楽しそうです。 大らかであたたかい雰囲気が、きっちり片付いた家以上に魅力的に映ることは、確かにありそうだなと思います。
